Alan, his wife Jennifer, and son Miles reside on the Kattevold farm that has been in the family for 6 generations. There they have raised sheep, horses and bulls. Today the Kattevolds stay busy completing the indoor arena. Their plans are to host futurities and provide the cowboys with a place in the winter to practice their bull riding skills. Alan enjoys meeting with the committees and introducing them to the idea of hosting a bull riding event. His wife Jenn helps with the marketing and promoting of the bull riding event.

The experience in the great frontier bull riding company

  Though the Great Frontier Bull Riding Company is new to the Minnesota arena of bull riding events, Alan Kattevold has a resume of years in the bull riding and rodeo business. He served two consecutive two-year terms as the Minnesota Rodeo Association Southern Regional Director. Alan gained his reputation through riding professionally in the IPRA as well as working for stock contractors and rodeo producers. For years he partnered with two other cowboys bringing bull riding events to Minnesota under the name Wild Bull Productions. The most noted event produced by Wild Bull Productions was the annual 4th of July 2 day bull riding event held at the fair grounds in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin. This experience taught him what it takes to put on a great show - from radio promoting to newspaper advertising to ticket sales to working within the community and its local civic organizations. Alan also brings the perspective of being the cowboy, once as a bull rider and as a bare-back bronc rider. He knows what the cowboys are looking for in the stock they draw to ride. Great Frontier Bull Riding Company leases some of the best bucking stock in the state from Troy & Peggy Meech of Meech Bucking Bulls, located in Nimrod, MN. Knowing what it takes in front of the chutes and in the back pens brings the bull riding event full circle.
